Who We Are

History

Friends Reaching Out Ministries (F.R.O.M as its more commonly known) was established in Durban, South Africa in late 1995. It was birthed in the heart of several friends, namely, Melvain Donyes, Mike Haswell and Nico Smit, who had been meeting regularly to share what God was doing in their lives.

They began to recognise a call to do more than just talk about Mission and Ministry. They sought direction how best to develop a structure that could assist them in their goal- to identify, encourage, and empower those that God was calling to reap the harvest.

As they sought counsel from other Godly men and women, including Dr. Dave and Mrs. Donna Haag, moderators of the Southern African Evangelistic Mission, the following "Statements" were formulated...

Our Mission

"F.R.O.M is an organisation based on friendship to identify, establish and support new and existing ministries"

Our Aim

"To advance the Kingdom of God worldwide while strengthening the local church"

Our Creed

"F.R.O.M shall endeavour to serve all Bible believing Christians without respect to denominational ties, religious tradition, race, culture, or creed"

Achievements to Date:
1996 1. Assisted Pastor Mike Haswell in his launch into ministry in Europe with on going support.

2. M.M.O.C Birthed "Mozambique"

3. Co-ordinated and administered the band "Kuriakon" to play at the Christian independence day celebration in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

1997 1. K.M.O.C Birthed "Kenya"

2. Recognized potential in Elsie Tarr and assisted via our bursary fund to enroll at Y.W.A.M and provide ongoing administration and financial support. (Elsie Tarr is gifted and anointed in Christian Drama.)
